Norse Gods and Goddesses (Pt. 10)

Frey:

He’s a Norse Vanir god, the god of peace, fertility, sunshine, summer, and rain. Even though he’s a Vanir Norse god, he’s also an honorary member of the Aesir, since he was brought to Asgard as a hostage after the Aesir-Vanir war. He was often considered “hated by none” because the Norse depended on his benevolence. Some think that he was the ruler over the elves, since he resided in Alfheim, though it’s not really stated that he was the “ruler of the elves.” While traveling on land, Frey used a chariot pulled by boars. During Ragnarok, Frey and Surt were fated to destroy each other fighting.
