Norse Gods and Goddesses (Pt. 6)

Heimdall:

He’s the watchman of the gods. He has the whitest skin of all the gods, and stands at the entry of Asgard, guarding the Bifrost Bridge. It’s said that he required less sleep than a bird. He has “all-seeing eyes” and “all-hearing ears”, being able to see anything that’s happening in any of the Nine Realms, and being able to hear grass grow, and wool growing on sheep. He had possession of Gjallarhorn, which could be heard throughout the heavens, earth, and the underworld. It’s believed that he would blow the horn when the giants came at Ragnarok. At Ragnarok, Loki and Heimdall were seen slaying each other. He’s the son of Odin, born from nine mothers, the theory being that he is the son of the nine daughters of the sea god, Aegir.
