Roman Gods and Goddesses (Pt. 9)

Diana:

The Roman counterpart of Artemis, she’s the goddess of wild and domestic animals and the hunt. She was the daughter of Jupiter and Latona. She was born on an island with her twin brother, Apollo, the god of light. Although she was the goddess of the wild, she was also the goddess of the moon, chastity, and fertility. Just like her Greek counterpart, Artemis, she swore to never marry and have children. She was often praised for her intelligence. The cypress trees were sacred to her. She’s often accompanied by a hunting dog or a deer.
